So, what does this mission offer to shake things up a bit? After all, vehicular combat is just there to spice up the gameplay. There are no vehicles, but that's understandable.
This mission's gameplay revolves around combating the Flood while making your way through the many hallways of the Library. The thing is, if Guilty Spark could teleport us to the Library (and then to the Control Center at the end of the mission) then why can't he just teleport us up three stories, grab the Index, and then leave?!
Unfortunately, it's four stories above us, which means we need to fight through a bunch of hallways in order to reach it. Guilty Spark says we need something called the Index in order to activate Halo and destroy the Flood.
So in this mission, 343 Guilty Spark has brought Chief to the Library, a sort of well, library full of research on the Flood and such.
If you break it down, it fails in nearly every aspect of what makes a mission good. Can we agree that 'The Library', mission 7 in Halo: Combat Evolved is the worst mission in the Halo series? It's a boring trek through the same three hallways over and over again fighting endless waves of frustrating enemies with little to no variety in anything at all.
